Layout survey
When you want to build a building or an extension to an existing one, you may need a layout survey.
In this process, the surveyor will mark on the field the position of a projected construction, new or extension. Often times the city will require that the owner provides, before the emission of the permit, a layout plan showing the projected building or extension.
The layout survey is governed by the Rules and regulations regarding the processes of staking and of a layout survey, of the Ordre des arpenteurs-géomètres du Québec (L.R.Q., c.A-23, r.11).
